The play
Martine visits a Russian fortune teller famed for her uncanny predictions. The reading takes an unexpected turn when the psychic reveals the name and address of her soulmate: Victor Barkat ! Immediately, Martine calls him just as he's about to commit suicide over a crushing debt. She rushes to his home and reveals the psychic’s prediction. But Victor wants nothing to do with this overly enthusiastic stranger, who soon turns his life into a nightmare. Desperate, he finally confesses the truth: he owes the mafia $500,000, and the psychic who predicted their meeting is none other than his own mother!
